CeramikFest - Ceramic Festival
Porcelana jeszcze Inaczej

We invite you on a journey—into white and its many shades, into memories of artists, factories, and a ceramic material that is extremely demanding yet extraordinarily beautiful: porcelain.
The exhibition Porcelain, Yet Different bears witness to the creativity and talents of ceramic artists, as well as to friendship, collaboration, and the time spent in shared creative play. During the international Porcelain Differently symposia, artists from all over the world gathered to work with and experiment on porcelain. They worked in now-defunct factories of Lower Silesia: Książ, Wałbrzych, Krzysztof, Karolina, as well as in Jedlina. This was easy at the time—porcelain flowed through pipes and could be scooped up by the handful from industrial carts. The support of factory crews, continuous kiln firings, and spacious working environments formed the recipe for free artistic expression, experimentation, new projects, and realizations without limitations.
The factories themselves were not the only phenomenon of these open-air workshops—their true essence lay in the artists: the exchange of experiences among artistic personalities from different corners of the world, evening gatherings with slide shows and presentations of each artist’s work, shared labor, new acquaintances and friendships, and the opportunity to observe one another’s “tricks” and techniques. The heart and soul of the symposia was Anna Malicka-Zamorska, founder and long-time president of the symposium, whom we bid farewell with great sorrow in December 2025.
As recently as September 2025, the first edition of the exhibition was organized at Sarny Castle; the present one is already being prepared without Anna.
Unfortunately, we did not make it in time…
With her in mind, with the co-creators from the Wrocław-based group of ceramic artists “Not Only Us”, and with many wonderful creators who are no longer among us, the CeramikFest Foundation—together with artists, heirs, and collectors who have agreed to join us—invites you to a retrospective exhibition. We are all here together—with objects created during those past workshops, as well as with small works, sketches, and porcelain gifts that we have carefully preserved over all these years. Joining us are the Unikat Foundation and private collectors, whose passion reveals a deep love for ceramics and a desire to share it with the public.
The exhibition is accompanied by the promotion of the album 36 Years of MSC Porcelain Differently, published in August 2025 and edited by Anna Zamorska, who remained devoted to her treasure—porcelain—to the very end.
Exhibition dates: 01.02 – 08.03.2026
Finissage: 08.03.2026, 6:00 PM
Venue: BULVARY

Our Mission
At CeramikFest, our mission is to celebrate and promote the art of working with clay—an art deeply rooted in Polish culture and history. From the ancient Lusatian culture, through the white basin of Wałbrzych, to the rich heritage and versatility of Bolesławiec pottery, ceramics tell the story of Poland.
We especially want to highlight the ceramists of Lower Silesia, a region long recognised as Poland’s centre of ceramics. It was here that the country’s first faculty of ceramics was established. Porcelain factories once flourished across Lower Silesia, shaping its industrial and artistic identity. Today, the Bolesławiec Ceramic Works and numerous mines supplying raw materials for production continue to thrive, sustaining the region’s reputation as a hub of ceramic artistry.
Our primary goal is to honour artists who bring clay and porcelain to life with unique forms, colours, and meaning. We believe that ceramics deserve an equal place in contemporary art—alongside painting and sculpture—as a medium bursting with passion, beauty, and cultural memory.
CERAMIKFEST FESTIVAL 2026
Sarny Castle

CeramikFest was designed for everyone: families with children, adults seeking inspiration, and artists at every stage of their journey. In this welcoming atmosphere, participants enjoyed masterful workshops, lively exchanges with artists, demonstrations of outdoor firing and clay wheel‑throwing, and a vibrant market where creators from across Poland showcased and sold their unique ceramic and porcelain works. Together, these activities turned the castle courtyard into a lively hub of creativity and connection.
Inside the castle halls, visitors could explore two exhibitions. The Otherwise Exhibition presented six captivating shows: works by artists from the Tętno Gallery, Flows, Traces by Ania Berestecka, Uniques by Dorota Starosta, A Salute to the Heart by Justyna Budzyn, and porcelain mould castings by BWA Wałbrzych.
Alongside this, the main event was Porcelain Differently (Porcelana inaczej), curated by Barbara Trzybulska. Created to honour a ceramics symposium of the same name once organised in Lower Silesian porcelain factories before their closure, the exhibition featured works lent to the CeramikFest Foundation by artists and collectors, together with original pieces from private collections. Many distinguished artists attended the opening reception, including Anna Zamorska, whose involvement and inspiration helped shape and co‑create the exhibition.
Beyond ceramics, CeramikFest offered much more: engaging lectures by invited guests, film screenings in the castle basement, and art contemplation through meditation with Nidranna. The programme also featured live music, contemporary dance performances, and a spectacular fire dance accompanied by fireworks to close the day. Food trucks and the restaurants and cafés of Zamek Sarny provided delicious meals and refreshments, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the festival atmosphere to the fullest.
We are proud that CeramikFest ’25 proved to be what we wanted it to be—an event that united people through their love of ceramics and porcelain, a celebration honouring these arts, and a space where participants could exchange experiences, inspirations, and emotions.
